SHOW SUPPORT FOR YOUR COMMUNITY
First off .... Who is Unity in the Community... ?
Unity in the Community is...
An energized collective of area residents making surrounding communities more vibrant and livable. Our main objective is to reach out to our communities, our residents and our local businesses to better their own communities through participation.
What was all the fuss about on November 7th.... ?
Members of Unity in the Community, with the support of city officials, Secondary student volunteers, High School Volunteers, concerned parents and various local business owners are joining forces to tackle various locations throughout Oshawa to clean up waste and unwanted debris.
So where and when does this all start... ?
Started off at City Hall Oshawa (West side at the bridge to Midtown mall) 11am and making our way down to the Oshawa trail area (Midtown Mall)
1 team will head Northbound on the beautiful Oshawa Trail system, the 2nd team heading Southbound.
What sort of waste and debris is being removed ?
Shopping Carts or anything unwanted in or around the creek
Basic litter
Anything which could be dangerous or hazardous to the environment
What is the point...?
To reach out to EVERYONE who would like to lend a hand and contribute to THEIR community!
To become active in helping ANY neighborhood in need of attention.
Discussing concerns in a group to solve those concerns sooner than later.
Coming together as a community unit to make lasting changes!
