Dogs pulled from Lake Ontario Oshawa firefighters were called into action Tuesday but it was not an ordinary call; the crews had to save two dogs from the frigid waters of Lake Ontario. Mandi Hargrave was there to capture the dramatic rescue.

Digging in OSHAWA -- How long does it take to eat a stack of six pancakes? Not more than a minute or two if you’re a firefighter looking to take home a trophy. Oshawa firefighters entertained the lunch crowd at the Oshawa Golden Griddle on Feb. 16, as they squared off for a pancake eating contest to launch Epilepsy Awareness Month in March. Ken Whetham took the prize, finishing his syrup-drenched stack just one bite ahead of the second place competitor.
